Mayor Harry Rilling reached this decision during an early morning conference call with Common Council members and city staff.

"I was adamantly opposed to the President's Tax Bill which unfairly targets residents of blue states. I am outraged by the actions of House and Senate Republicans in passing it along party lines," said Rilling. "Norwalk will do everything possible to ensure residents are able to pay their current year property taxes in this calendar year to limit their exposure to this unfair tax scheme."

The Tax Collector’s office will be open on Friday, Dec. 29, until 4:30 p.m. and for additional hours on Saturday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
